Specialised Goods in Transit (GIT) Insurance
Our specialised solution for Goods in Transit Insurance has been designed to suit the transporter’s need based on our decades of experience.
We offer
Cover on a per vehicle basis: We insure the goods based on the number of vehicles, load limit and radius of operation. This ensures that your premium is not adjustable as it is on a goods in transit policy based on haulage fees. Your vehicles premiums are calculated on the load limits and radius of each vehicle ensuring you pay only for the cover you need.
Specialised Cover to choose from: We are able to offer our clients cover on Fire, collision, overturning, theft and hijacking of the conveying vehicle only. (Standard Cover), All Risks Cover, and Specified Risks Cover.
Goods in Transit Cover on a First Loss Basis: We insure the goods on a first loss basis so the average clause does not apply if the load value exceeds your load limits.
One Off Covers: We can arrange one-off covers on those occasional loads that exceed your policy limits.
Confirmation of Cover: We will provide the confirmation of your cover to your client along with a schedule without the premium. This is important as we draw attention to the exclusions on the policy and the standard trading conditions under which your company operates. The correspondence is then placed in your file so it may be referred to should there be any discrepancy with your client regarding the cover provided.
Container Cover: We cover your shipping containers free. The containers are covered on an all risks basis and you enjoy the lowest container excess in the market – eg. in 2010 we offered cover for the amount of R 1 000 for a 6 meter container or R 2 000 on a 12 meter container.
Assessors on Call: We arrange an assessor to the accident scene to assist with minimizing the loss. Should your container be broken into, we will arrange an assessor to meet with your driver at the delivery address to ensure that the load is checked and losses are minimized.
Excess Reducer Cover: We offer excess reducer cover that meets the need of the policy for Non Hijack and Hijack claims. If your policy has a Hijack/Theft excess, is your excess reducer able to cover your Theft excess? Ask us for assistance to ensure that you are not paying a high theft excess if you don’t have to.
